One Less Choice ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

The financial information you put into this app is personal. It represents your real life — your income, your goals, your stress, your progress. We built One Less Choice because we needed a tool like this ourselves, and we know what it means to trust someone with that kind of data.

So here's our simple commitment: we treat your data the way we'd want ours treated. We don't sell it. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't use it to profile you or target you. The only reason your information exists in our systems is to help the app do what it's supposed to do — help you plan and run your life more clearly and confidently. That's it. That's the whole deal.

What We Collect

When you create an account and use One Less Choice, we collect:

• Account information — your email address, provided via Clerk authentication (Google sign-in or email/password)
• Financial data you enter — income, expenses, budgets, goals, debts, pools, and Day Dream items you manually add or import
• Meal planning data — recipes, meal plans, and macro targets you create within the app
• Accountability connections — email addresses of partners you invite and their wellness indicator data

We do not collect bank login credentials, social security numbers, or payment card numbers. Transaction data is entered manually or imported via CSV file — no direct bank connection is made.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide and operate the One Less Choice service
• To compute wellness indicators shared with your accountability partners (labels only — no raw financial figures)
• To send bi-monthly wellness digest emails (Premium subscribers only, opt-out available)
• To process subscription payments via Stripe
• To improve the service based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns

AI Features

Premium features use the Anthropic Claude API to generate recipe suggestions and debt payoff recommendations. When you use these features, relevant context (recipe search terms, macro targets, debt figures) is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. Anthropic's privacy policy governs their handling of this data. We do not send personally identifiable information such as your name or email to the AI API.

Data Storage

Your financial data is stored in Cloudflare's D1 database, encrypted at rest, on servers in the United States. Authentication is managed by Clerk. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.

Sharing With Third Parties

We do not sell your data. We share data only with the service providers required to operate One Less Choice:

• Clerk — authentication and user management
• Cloudflare — hosting, database, and content delivery
• Anthropic — AI features (Premium only)
• Stripe — payment processing (Premium subscriptions)
• Resend — transactional email delivery

Accountability Partners

When you connect with an accountability partner, they can see four wellness indicators computed from your data: Budget Health, Debt Progress, Goals Momentum, and Meal Planning status. These are labels only (e.g., "On Track," "Falling Behind") — no dollar amounts, transaction details, or account information is ever shared with your partner. Either party can disconnect at any time, immediately removing access on both sides.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing chris@onelesschoice.app. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

One Less Choice is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
